Abstract

This paper is concerned with the personalisation of teaching/learning paths in mathematics education. Such personalisation would exploit the features offered by the e-learning platform IWT, which allows to manage both the knowledge domain and the student’s profile. We will present the implementation of a personalised course of “Geometry” in IWT, describing the given representation of the knowledge domain and on the other side the design of various learning objects both meaningful from educational viewpoint and according to different learning style. The genesis of the course is based on the integration of research in mathematics education and e-learning. The course has been experimented at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Salerno (Italy). The analysis of the outcomes is in progress taking into account both pedagogical and technical issues.
