Abstract

The paper describes a new developed platform for smart sensor network (SSN) data integration based on Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). SOA is a software design and software architecture design pattern based on discrete pieces of software providing application functionality as services to other applications. This is known as service oriented technology which is independent of any vendor, product or technology. Our platform is layer based and defines Network Layer, Data Integration layer and Application layer. The proposed architecture improves the information flow, has ability to expose internal functionality, improves reliability and scale operations to meet different demand levels. The platform supports mechanisms for cooperative data mining, self organization, networking, and energy optimization to build higher level service structures. The development of applications is improved and simplified by the use of optional administration tools and components.
