Proposed Extensions to the Methodology of Technology Scouting

Abstract

An extended framework for the Technology scouting process is developed. The developed framework proposes the use of a series of screening mechanisms and verification instruments that extend the process already described in UNE 166006:2018. The extended framework was implemented in two cases of study for Technology scouting services provided by CEDIA to innovation stakeholders. The results demonstrated the effectiveness of using the extended framework, reducing stagnation points and the risk of information bias, two main issues often reported in the techonology scouting process.
