Abstract

In the paper the new approach for modeling workflow processes have been proposed. This approach is based on the special class of stochastic Petri nets and allows to model resources that is needed for tasks execution. Such models are well suited both for qualitative and quantitative analysis of workflow processes. In the paper the function reflecting the cost of waiting the task execution due to the lack of resources have been introduced. The problem of minimizing of this function have been stated. The decision approach for this problem have been introduced. This approach manages resources by means of priorities. In general, optimal priorities may be found during simulation.
