Abstract

The paper argues that facilitating timely and contextually grounded communication could help improve both coordination and decision making / problem solving in the construction project process. The paper discusses the authors’ previous work in construction IT, as well as related literature, and the findings that have led to the development of a framework for awareness of activity in project information spaces. A detailed description of the conceptual model and software architecture of the proposed resource awareness framework is given, followed by directions for future research.
