Shadow Artifacts Correction on Fine Art Reproductions

Abstract

The paper under consideration deals with information technology for correction of shadow artifacts on colour digital images obtained by taking photos of paintings with the purpose of their reproduction. Appearance of shadow artefacts is caused by different intensity of picture lighting. The problem of shadow detection and subsequent colour correction in this area is solved.
