Geoheritage and Brand Awareness of Batur Geopark through E-promotion

Abstract

Batur Geopark is one of the Global Geopark Network UNESCO members, located in the Indonesian island of Bali. The geoheritage has been promoted by the Geopark management using a website. , However, the effectiveness of this promotion method in creating the brand awareness needs to be examined. This research aims: (1) discover the geoheritage and promotional effort for Batur Geopark via the website; (2) find out the influence of E-promotion on the brand awareness of Batur Geopark. The mixed method is used in the study, and samples of website visitors were taken. The results showed that there is rich geoheritage in the Geopark and promotions through the internet site influence the brand awareness of Batur Geopark. The internet site promotion performance is rated medium and needs to be improved. The key point is the interaction between visitors with other website visitors. Based on the findings, it is recommended to develop the forum to include a menu containig a menu with a various variety of interesting topics about the Geopark activities.
