Abstract

Background: Sports rehabilitation aims to reduce post-operative pain, management of soft tissue tissue trauma, and provide normal walking. It has beneficial effects of early recovery of coordination muscle function that can be assisted with biofeedback and selective muscle stimulation Objective: To formulate an appropriate medical, rehabilitative strategy for wound healing, dealing with donor graft morbidity, pain and swelling, restoring full extension, strengthening muscle control, improving good muscle control and early proprioceptive skills and recovery of muscle endurance capacity Case: A 19-year-old male patient with ACL and PCL tears at the right knee complained of instability and pain on walking. He underwent recontructive surgery using a graft tendon patella then a rehabilitation program after surgery. Four phases of the program followed, which included training using a biofeedback device, laser, electrostimulation, proprioceptive and balance exercises, range of motion exercises, endurance and strengthening exercises, and patient education. Outcomes: Clinical signs, VAS, MMT, atrophy, proprioceptive function, muscle contraction activity. Discussion: The patient reported pain reduction, reduced limitations in knee joint extension gradually and was able to regain functional activity. This was objectively supported by a reduction in pain score, increase in knee joint extension, muscle strength and gait. Biofeedback, lasers, and electrostimulation are used for therapeutic interventions. Therefore, following the stages of exercise is very important to prepare for the ability to return to sport. Conclusions: Sports rehabilitation to recover function after injury is very important. Optimal function recovery requires proper handling. To achieve the ultimate goal (prevent reinjury), we need to increase muscle strength and endurance, and gradually ready the patient for sport
