Abstract

Communication plays a role in the lives of individuals or organizations. Including the existing of customs in Bali is Subak. Subak is a unique organization because it has existed since the year of 1072 and aims to regulate the flow of water that irrigates the rice fields that are part of the Subak. This study aims to define the function of communication in maintaining organizational performance in Subak organization in the amids of the threat of rapid growing of globalization. This research uses literature review method which is sourced from library in the form of national and international journal about Subak and organizational performance, reference book and supporting documents to get the data used for this research. The results of this study are communication has three functions. First, communication as an information. The second function is as a control function in the form of nonverbal communication in the form of awig-awig. The third function is the function of motivation in the form of interpersonal communication.
