Detection of Primitives in Engineering Drawing using Genetic Algorithm

Abstract

This paper presents a method for vectorizing paper drawings (raster). The method consists of skeletonizing the input image, segmenting the skeleton based on junction detection and recognizing primitives using genetic algorithm. The method is tested on different images and compared with previous works, results are promising and show the high accuracy of our method.
