Abstract

Telecare is an increasingly important application of technology that is designed to increase the independence of older adults, amongst other goals. The programme of research described below aims to identify important issues with the deployment of this technology to the target group. It describes an on-going programme of research that attempts to classify these issues, and posit solutions. It additionally proposes a new area of research into the effects of telecare and related technologies on a client’s psychosocial wellbeing.
