Abstract:
An important component of the Web of Data is formed by data originally stored in relational databases. The relational data along with its schemes and integrity constraints is translated into a knowledge base, that we call a {\it relational knowledge base} (RKB), residing on the Web. It is important to preserve semantics in data-to-knowledge transformation, as well as in knowledge-to-knowledge exchange between two RKBs. We discuss these issues and propose an algorithm for checking whether a mapping between two RKBs is semantics preserving. The algorithm is based on the chase procedure.
