Abstract:
Abstract: Menopause is a natural phase of life and would happens in every woman who reaches a certain agein aging phase. This condition has many problems, such as endometrial atrophy, which can cause abnormal bleeding. Sauropus androgynous, known as Katu Lleaf, has isoflavones compound and acts as an estrogen-like agents or phytoestrogen. Isoflavone can induce cell proliferation activity in increasing endometrial thickness and uterine weight. This study was aimed to find out how the isoflavonis flavone compound in Sauropus androgynus can increase the uterine weight in menopausal mice as an animal model. 20 Twenty female mice aged two 2 months 1 and one week were given VCD (4-Vinyl cyclohexane dioxide) to induce the atresia acceleration of ovarian follicles, then treated with Kkatu Lleafves extract of 0, 15 and 30 mg/kgBW in 4over weeksfour weeks. The uterine weights were measured and being analyzed with One Way Analysis of Variances (Anova) and further tested with Least Significance
Difference in 95% confidence interval. The result showed s that there is a difference between control and treatments group (pP<0.05) with 30 mg/kgBW as highest dosage, which increase uterine weight as 112.80 +8.86 mg), but it this is not higher than normal (116.36+6.83 mg). This study suggests that Katu Lleaf extract has an isoflavone compound which can increase uterine weight in menopausal mice.
