Abstract:
Business process (BP) engineering is used nowadays in many methods, techniques and tools. In domains such as strategic management, reengineering, or security analysis, one particular concern is the identification of BPs that should be dealt primarily. In practice, the number of BPs is often very large and it justifies the creation of a priorisation mechanism. However, the number of approaches available to prioritise BPs specifically is very limited. This paper presents a comparison of multicriteria (MC) methods, and an approach to guide the selection and application of the MC method found as the most appropriate for BP priorisation. The approach is illustrated with the case of selecting and applying a BP priorisation in the view of BP reengineering.
