Abstract:
This paper presents an innovative conceptual, technological and business framework for an energy-centred multi-resource optimized hub aimed at smart city infrastructure improved integration and improved energy efficiency and reduced carbon footprints. Early results show a cost-effective operation for the integration
hub, as well as a 30% smart city/district energy efficiency overall increase when a synergistic operation management is carried out for those resource supply infrastructures which are integrated through the implemented hubs. Two major technological implementations have been presented and their current state of
implementation has been discussed, the first one aimed at integrating smart electricity grid with hydrogen mobility infrastructure, while the latter one refers to a smart data centre hub interfacing with smart energy (both power and heat) grids and with telco networks.
