Abstract:
As the Internet has become widespread, text messaging has become a major means of communication. Because it is difficult to express emotion through text, emoticons were developed. There are many kinds of emoticons, and people often have difficulty finding one that conveys their meaning appropriately. This research aims to propose an emoticon recommendation system that considers individual differences. To this end, we conducted a survey about the use of emoticons. In this study, we report and analyze the results of this survey.
