Abstract:
The expansion in use of social media has been very significant in the past decade. It has become a topic of interest for many researchers to find the most connected people, the most influential people, etc. in social media for various purposes. However, collection and monitoring of data in abundance from social media is difficult. This paper describes a new tool that can collect, monitor, and mine data from YouTube. The tool is part of a larger framework aimed at monitoring various social media including Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. A specific case focusing on “Islamic Jihad Holy War” demonstrates the features of the tool.
