Abstract:
Virtualization plays an important role in cloud computing by providing the capability of running multiple operating systems and applications on top of the same underlying hardware. However, there are limitations in current virtualization technologies, which are inherited by cloud computing. For example, performance, security and dependability. While these challenges remain, the adoption of virtualization in the different fields will be limited. This paper presents a survey in the past and open virtualization challenges, such as nested virtualization, reliability and security.
