Abstract: Surface roughness is one of the important indexes for evaluating the surface properties of materials. However, the present surface roughness evaluation of porous materials is not a uniform standard and equipment. In this paper, a laser three-dimensional microscope system is used to test and analyze the surface roughness of different parts of wood with different processing methods. A fast method is proposed for the evaluation of surface roughness of wood processing. The first step is to comprehensively consider the evaluation site of the selected specimen; Second step is to select two steps to meet the accuracy grade and the appropriate test mode to finish the measurement and evaluation.
