Abstract: Energy Efficiency (EE) is one of the most relevant objectives for Spanish and European Governments, according to their strategic plans. An effective monitoring of buildings and transport networks is currently needed in order to achieve EE appropriately. In the last few years, the wide availability of real-time data from very diverse sensing technologies lead us to manage, to fuse and to analyze a huge amount of these data. The present project aims at developing new tools and methods with the final goal of achieving a more efficient handling of energy. Specifically, Data Mining and Fuzzy Logic will be mixed together in a context of Program Parallelization Techniques to get a reduction of the computation time through the use of powerful parallel methods that are capable of accelerating the search process over an immense number EEmeasurement data coming from several buildings. The endeavor to be made is devised as the result of a coordinated project work of four complementary research g roups from different Spanish universities (Universidad de Granada, Universidad Pablo de Olavide, Universidad de Castilla La Mancha and Universidad de Cádiz). These universities count with energy monitoring systems that will be employed to tests the results. This joint effort will enable a fruitful multidisciplinary exchange of know-hows and valuable data, which will greatly benefit the overall results of local projects. Additionally, the project counts on the international experts assistance, who will collaborate within the different work teams to be configured, and several companies in the field of EE have also expressed their interest in the outcomes and products of the project.
