Abstract: Because of their complexity, business transactions are prone to failure in many ways. This paper reports on our experience using a fault-based testing approach. The approach overcomes the limitations of speciﬁcation-based approaches that derive from the intrinsic incompleteness of the speciﬁcation, and from the focus of speciﬁcations on correct behaviors, rather than potential faults, and hence provides a complementary technique during the testing phase.
