Abstract:
Increasingly, movies and videos are becoming accessible as enormous collections over the Internet, and in social media, demanding for new and more powerful ways to search and browse them, based on video content analysis and classification techniques. The lack of large sets of labelled data is one of the major obstacles for the Machine-Learning techniques that are used to build the relevant models. This paper describes and evaluates SoundsLike, an interactive web application that adopts a Human Computation approach through a Game With A Purpose to engage users in movie soundtrack browsing and labelling, while maintaining or improving the entertaining quality of the user experience.
