Abstract: Social media influence the way people communicate with each other. In the governmental context, social media accommodates a fast and transparent method of information delivery by its ability to create a service involving public participation. This is a descriptive qualitative research focusing on the Mayor of Bandung, Ridwan Kamil’s strategy in communicating and building public participation using social media. Ridwan Kamil has successfully delivered his political messages via social media. Data was collected by non-participatory observation and qualitative analysis. The results show that Bandung city government has developed various programs and innovations through social media in running the local government.
