Abstract

This paper describes the ontologies developed in the framework of the European project VAALID. They are a set of OWL ontologies that are used to define Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) solutions, providing the semantics to model services, the actors involved in the service, AAL environments and their spaces, devices and furniture. The ontologies also include concepts to model the interaction among all the parts of the AAL solution, which mainly define requirements and restrictions. The model of interaction is based on the Common Access Profile.
