Abstract
With the emergence of the Internet technologies - notably, SOA and Cloud Computing - enterprises are increasingly delivering their business services through on-line service offerings called Business Process as a Service (BPaaS). However, current BPaaS offerings can be perceived as monolithic cloud solutions that are constrained by the capabilities that are made available by the provider at their delivery level and do not allow for easy extensibility or customization options. In this paper, we propose a novel BPaaS engineering techniques which cater for the tailoring of services to specific business needs using a mixture of SaaS, PaaS and IaaS solutions - possibly from various providers. It is the prime goal of our proposal to simplify the engineering of BPaaS applications by hiding the complexity of their development and deployment. This is achieved by providing a customization solution to manage all configuration of functional and non functional aspects related to a BPaaS offering.
