Frame Time and Cardinality Indeterminacy in Temporal Relational Databases

Abstract
Time is pervasive of reality, and many relational database approaches have been developed to cope with it. However, in practical applications, temporal indeterminacy about the exact time of occurrence of facts and, possibly, about the number of occurrences, may arise. Coping with such phenomena requires an in-depth extension of current techniques. In this paper, we have introduced a new data model, and new definitions of relational algebraic operators coping with the above issues, and we have studied operator reducibility.
