The Strategies of Small Business in Floriculture Industry

Abstract
This research portrays the strategy conducted by small business owners in floriculture related to their ability to survive and develop the business. It was beneficial to the small business of floriculture to have competitiveness skill, investors and policy makers who want to support the development of floriculture industry in Indonesia. This research employs qualitative method to obtain the data using purposive sampling and structured interviews with the floriculture business owners who lived in Bandung and had certain criteria. The findings show that there was no general, standard and sequential strategy. There are 12 strategies commonly conducted by the owners who had successfully run their business, however, these strategies could not be categorized because their usage depended highly on the circumstances of each firm.
