Abstract
The implementation of tridarma has not run in a balanced manner, especially in terms of research. Practgcbme of teaching, community service, and research are closely related to each other. The weak performance of lecturers' research indicates a lack of scientific discourse among lecturers. This research aims to identify the relationship between competence and research performance. Descriptive survey method was employed and the collected data were analysed using SEM. The results show that high competence is not directly proportional to research performance. Scientific publications are still limited, mainly at the level of reputable international journals. One weakness is the low ability to access scientific journals in accordance with the focus of research.
