Abstract

Background: The alveolar bone plays an important role in the support of denture protheses. One of the socket preservation procedures is the provision of bone graft on the revocation socket immediately after the tooth is removed. Giving extracts of skin combinations Garcinia mangostana L and DFDBBX was assumed to decrease osteoclast cell count, 1β IL expression. Objective: This study was conducted to investigate the potential combination of mangosteen and DFDBBX skin extracts to decrease Interleukin 1β and osteoclast cell expression in the preservation of a cavic cavity extraction socket. Method: This research method used seven heads of an laboratory-type experimental animal in the form of cavia cobaya with a randomized research factorial design (true experimental design). First of all, the lower left incisor of the 56 cavia cobaya was lifted. It was then divided into eight groups and given PEG, DFDBBX, mangosteen skin extract and a combination of mangosteen skin extract and DFDBBX. Then it was examined by HE and immunohistochemistry on the 7th and 30th days after the removal. The results were analyzed using One-Way Anova. Results: The study showed that the average number of osteoclasts and Interleukin 1β expression was significantly different in each group. Conclusion: The combination of mangosteen skin extract, DFDBBX and PEG with 2% active substance concentration is effective in increasing osteoblast cells and decreasing osteoclast cells and IL 1β expression of Cavia cobaya alveolar bone on day 7 and 30.
