Abstract

Pregnancy conditions in women will give many changes to the body. These changes can be hormonal, emotional and dietary changes. These changes affect the oral and mucosal health of the oral cavity of pregnant women, where hormonal changes affect the susceptibility of mucosal tissues of the oral cavity. The purpose of this study was to find out how the profile, oral hygiene, and periodontal treatment needs in first-trimester pregnant women. The study population was pregnant women who came treated in Puskesmas Garuda Bandung. Subjects were pregnant women aged 19-41 years. The study sample must meet the inclusion criteria of good general health status and exclusion criteria ie no systemic abnormalities and not be on long-term antibiotic therapy. Accidental sampling was used in this research. Indicators measured were oral hygiene status profiles measured using OHIS and status of periodontal treatment needs using the CPITN index. The conclusion of this research is that the oral hygiene of first-trimester pregnant women in puskemas Garuda Bandung, are in medium category, and need to get the action of scaling and root planing
