Abstract

This article discussed about the local wisdom and the historical study to build the environmental caring personality. The data are from a literature study that reviewed articles, journals, and text books correlated with the local wisdom and the historical study to build an ‘environmental caring’ characteristic. The value of the ‘environmental caring’ attitude in the traditional society was internalized to the students through the historical learning. The development in historical learning is done via an integration of local wisdom value and the green history that focused on the ococentric historical learning rather than anthropocentric based.
