Abstract
Meta-analysis of International study is important to analyse the performances of certain participant countries and to later improve their qualities to meet international standards. Having been under the low benchmark level compared to other countries, Indonesia wants to study further the weaknesses of their students who joined the Trend of International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) 2015. Based on the weaknesses found in grade 4 in TIMSS 2015, the preparation for grade 8 TIMSS 2019 could be arranged and carried out earlier. Under international code of agreement, the right answers from the representative respondents from a number of provinces in Indonesia can be obtained and analysed. Research finding shows that Indonesian grade 4 pupils have weaknesses in combining information or facts to understand, in implementing concepts and in giving appropriate reasoning in math and in science. Meanwhile Curriculum 2013 had been launched since the end of 2012, and revised gradually until 2016. By empowering scientific approach and scientific skills in science, some efforts have been developed and implemented in the entire provinces in Indonesia, especially in some provinces that had been detected having low achievements.
