Abstract
Fiberoptic bronchoscopy (FOB) has been widely used for diagnosis and therapy for pulmonology and respiratory diseases. FOB is a safe procedure with a low complication and mortality rate (0.5-6.8%). However, there are several complications to be considered. These complications occur during premedication (anticholinergic and local anesthesia) and sedation, during FOB (hypoxia, arrythmia and bleeding) and FOB with special conditions, i.e. after myocardial infarction, asthma, COPD, elderly, children, ICU, increased intracranial pressure and pregnancy
