Abstract
The presence of social media has been utilized in various fields, with no exception to the government. Social media can provide ease along with the challenge itself in applying good governance. The implementation of good governance embraces principles of participation, transparency, law enforcement, responsiveness, equality, effectiveness, and efficiency to demonstrate good accountability within and outside the government and realize public service as expected. This study uses a literature study method, which is a series of activities related to library data collection methods, reading, taking notes, and managing research materials. This research shows that social media can bring so many changes and answer governance problems. With the existence of social media, government transparency regarding its citizens has begun to form and an interaction has also developed. Through posting on various social media sites, comments columns are used by the community to ask questions, give comments, suggestions, and criticisms. The interaction was evident when administrators for the social media page responded to the comments of citizens. Various government agencies have begun to utilize social media to interact with the public. Although it still has some shortcomings, this has received various positive responses from the community.
