Abstract
Abstract: ET-1 and its receptors (ETA & ETB) play a pivotal role in many diseases following obesity. The dynamic relation between ET-1 and its receptor in obesity is still rarely studied. The aim of this study is to know the profile of ET-1 and its receptors in young and adult obese wistar rat. Two groups of wistar rat (young and adult rat) involved in study with obese rat and normal weight rat as a control group respectively. ET-1 plasma, ETA receptor and ETB receptor of heart and kidney was determined by ELISA. The data showed that ET-1 plasma higher (p<0.05) in adult compare to young rat in obese and control group, ETA of heart and kidney of adult rat lower (p>0.05) than young rat in obese and control group, ETB of heart of adult rat lower (p<0.05) than young rat in obese and control group, and ETB of kidney higher (p>0,05) in adult rat than young rat in control group. The ET-1 plasma level tends to increase in adult rat compare to young rat in both group, while the expression of ETA and ETB receptor are different in both group
