Abstract

Abstract: Lead acetate decreases the quantity and motility of spermatozoa and causes infertility. One of the methods to prevent that is through the influence of Mozart’s music in the limbic system as an emotional control and to improve BDNF intensity to prevent apoptosis of the body tissues, which improves the quantity and motility of spermatozoa. This study aims to investigate whether Mozart’s music can increase the quantity and motility of Mus musculus Balb/c spermatozoa that is exposed by lead acetate. Thirty Mus musculus Balb/c aged 6-8 months with 25–35g weight were put into 5 groups. The experimental group was exposed by 0.075mg/kgBB lead acetate for 35 days. Then, it was exposed to Mozart’s music for 30 minutes, 1 hour and 2 hours (composition by Hermanto: 70 dB). After 35 days, the samples were killed to measure the quantity and motility of spermatozoa. The data analysis revealed that the Mus musculus Balb/c exposed to 1 hour of Mozart’s music had significantly increased its quantity and motility of spermatozoa compared to the control group (P˂0.01). One hour of Mozart’s music is better than 30 minutes or 2 hours of it, which increases the quantity and motility of spermatozoa.
