Abstract
Stroke is a chronic disease and has a long latent period which has multi factorial causes, so a simple and easy instrument to assess the risk level of infarct stroke is needed. The objective of this study was to construct the risk index of infarct stroke which contained modifiable risk factors. The study used a case control design with a sample size of 164 subjects. This study used 17 risk factors as observable variables. Confirmatory factor analysis was used to arrange the model and a Kappa statistic was used for determining the agreement between both indexes. Both risk indexes of infarct stroke i.e. type A and B consisted of twelve variables; two of those variables were different, i.e., cigarette smoke and previous hyperuricemia for the index type A, while for the index type B they were triglyserides and cholesterol LDL. However, the other ten variables were the same. Among both indexes, the highest coefficients were blood glucose i.e. random, fasting, post prandial blood glucose, and HBA1c. Furthermore, the agreement test between both indexes (к) was 0.71. The strongest association of the variables to an infarct stroke was blood glucose. The agreement between the indexes were good
