Abstract
With more and more applications using biometrics, new privacy and security risks arise. New biometric schemes have been proposed in the last decade following a privacy by design approach: biometric template protection systems. Their quantitative evaluation is still an open research issue. The objective of this paper is to propose a new evaluation methodology for template protection systems based on a transformation by proposing some metrics for testing their performance and robustness to face attacks. These metrics enable us to estimate the probability of successful attacks considering different scenarios. We illustrate this evaluation methodology on two transformation based template protection schemes in order to show how some security and privacy properties can be checked by simulating attacks.
