Abstract
This research was conducted because academic accountants do not have any ethics. In addition, this profession is vital because it has a role different from other accountants. Their role is to prepare candidates for professional work as they will be plunged directly into the community and must have a reliable ability as well as a high moral commitment. Furthermore, academic accountants are the first role model for these candidates. Therefore, it is important to discuss the formulation of a basic principle of ethical conduct for academic accountants. Islam is a religion that has set all the rules for life. Every rule includes ethics that have been discussed in the Holy Quran where the Prophet Muhammad’s SAW characteristics of shiddiq, amanah, fathanah, tabligh, and istiqomah are used to form a role model. These characteristics need to be owned by academic accountants and implemented in their ethical conduct as a code of ethics. Therefore, it can be concluded that when speaking of a foothold, we must refer to Prophet Muhammad SAW and the Holy Quran as a scripture of which there is no doubt.
