Abstract
This study aims to find out whether pre-questioning is more effective than skimming in improving the students’ reading comprehension at different reading interests. This research is a quantitative study. The data were collected by using test and questionnaire. The data were analysed through the steps: the normality test, the homogeneity test, and the 2x2 ANOVA factorial design. The finding showed that the students taught using pre-questioning have high reading interest and better reading comprehension than those who have low reading interest. However, both pre-questioning and skimming are proper techniques to teach reading comprehension, but pre-questioning is found to be more effective in this research.
