Abstract
An application of the lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) to the study of sound wave propagation is presented in this paper. The major purpose of this simulation is to show how the LBM technique can be easily applied in the domain of acoustics. The sound waves are emitted from a vibrating rectangular source placed in the center of the left face of a rectangular enclosure filled with air. An analytical study is performed to validate our numerical approach and the error between the two studies is also described to ensure the validity of the LBM analysis.
