Familiarity with Free Software through Online Services

Abstract
The article considers the use of online services in the study of free software. Free software is based on the philosophy of freedom and the right to intellectual creativity. To date, a significant number of software products have been created and distributed through the repository, but they are not used in educational activities. The study allowed to clarify the factors that promote and hinder the use of free software in educational activities. Based on questionnaires, analysis of open data, the work of researchers on the use of free software provided an opportunity to draw conclusions about the feasibility of using free software in educational activities. The article gives examples of the use of free software in educational activities. To get acquainted with free software, it was useful to use online resources, which is the purpose of our study.
