Abstract
In this paper we analyse distributed protocols in a logical framework. In particular, we provide a dynamic epistemic logic analysis of certain broadcast protocols, viz. Birman-Schiper-Stephenson protocol and Lamport’s mutual exclusion protocol. In the process, we provide correctness proofs of these protocols via knowledge-based reasoning. We also provide a detailed algorithmic analysis of the logical modeling of these protocols.
