Abstract
Dependability Engineering is a critical importance for the now huge number of software systems that are directly linked to people (and can damage them – be that physically or through security and data protection issues) and that operate in open and distributed environments that expose them to reliability problems. We present here an integrated dependability analysis and design methods for reliability, safety and security that targets beginners and that can be applied without specific tools support. We introduce this analysis and design method here in a concrete educational setting that is made up of beginners and works without tools. We will look at this specifically in the context of Internet-of-Things data with realistic application cases.
