Abstract
Today, the cost associated to the significant growth in the transportation field is air and noise pollution. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), an estimate of seven million people worldwide die every year due to breathing bad quality air, in addition, morbidities such as high blood pressure, heart disease, sleep disturbances and stress might be linked to noise pollution. In this context, many researchers have done efforts in measuring air and noise pollution to be fully aware of the areas that have a negative impact on human health. In this paper an intelligent transportation system is proposed which uses a low-cost sensor device and a mobile application to monitor air pollution and noise pollution in Cairo, Egypt successively.
