Abstract
Museums play a key cultural role in educating citizens through the immersive experience they provide. The recent lockdowns have awakened them to the need to accelerate their digital transformation and to propose new kinds of experience to their public. This paper performs a SWOT analysis considering the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats from existing and emerging digital technologies w.r.t. the range of services and missions a museum is delivering both internally as a company and externally to the society. Our work relies on a number of technological evolutions reported in the literature and experienced in our computing heritage museum with a strong focus on the user experience and accessibility.
