Abstract
The article discusses the development of the sociocultural potential of youth in the university environment as a factor of sustainable development based on a survey of undergraduate students in four regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The study offers a solution to the identified problems through the implementation of the concept of a "responsive university", based on a prompt response to the extracurricular needs of students and their satisfaction with the priorities of the state youth policy.
