Abstract
This work focuses on detecting anomalous sound events from traffic audio. The audio used is recorded from the microphone associated with a surveillance camera. We have defined six anomaly classes and generated synthetic data using real background audio which corresponds to Indian traffic sound obtained from a surveillance camera microphone. Using a teacher-student training strategy, we have obtained F1 score of 96.12% and an error rate 0.06. We also show that even when the event occurs farther away from the microphone, the performance is still impressive, with an F1 score of 92.55 and an error rate of 0.12.
