1 INTRODUCTION
The development of information technology into a
technology that has always been anticipated by a lot
of people, both from teenagers to adults, information
processing institutions both public and private
(Harisanty, 2018). Developments in information
technology are increasing also increasingly
influencing the development of information
processing agency (Anna et al., 2018). One
institution information processor is now very useful
for information technology is a library, a regional
library and a good college library (Suhariono et al.,
2022). Libraries as a whole container of both print
and nonprinting information required to always be
able to provide a variety of information desired by
the user (Sunyowati et al., 2022). As university
libraries are now widely grown, there are still many
collections in the form of print collection, now many
libraries also have digital collections, such as
journals, articles, and a variety of good scientific
work of students, faculty, and the academic
community (Romadhona, 2022). Even this
development of information technology in use by the
library stores a collection of digital is to be accessible
wherever they are, in addition, the library also can
save storage space (Romadhona et al., 2022).
Library IAIN Tulungagung as one of the nation
college libraries also take advantage of technological
developments to store various digital collections
owned by the library. Currently this Tulungagung
Library IAIN own digital collections, as many as
5024 collection consisting of Thesis, Thesis, Journal,
Articles, Books and Monograph. The number of
these collections will also need to be treated to be
searched easily by the user. Therefore, Tulungagung
IAIN library storing the collection in the repository
(Romadhona, Subagyono and Agustin, 2022).
Repository can mean the warehouse so that it can
include libraries, museums, archives and even
warehouse. Now understanding of institutional
repositories (hereinafter referred to as IR) refers to
the storage and preservation of digital information
an organization or an organization's knowledge
assets (Branin, 2010), in Alb (Narendra, 2014) in
(Wiyarsih, 2016).
To facilitate retrieval systems, there are many
collections that will be difficult in the search if only
using the manual method. Today many software
tools are offered to various universities such as
DSpace, Greenstone, E-prints and much more. IAIN
this Tulungagung own library to access the
repository owned using E-prints Software. E-prints a
digital software device fot library developed by the
University of Southampton, England United
Kingdom. First version was released to the public in
2000. It has been integrated with the extended
metadata, advanced search to search for further
information, and other features. 2015) Reason
Library E-prints IAIN Tulungagung use this
software because of its features are expected to use
easily. Because now there are many students who
are active in using the services of this repository.

2 LITERATURE REVIEW
2.1 University Library
University Library is a supporting infrastructure
established to support activities Civitas Academic
College where it is located (Sjahrial Pamuntjak,
2000). College libraries are libraries that are
members of the higher education institution
environment, either university libraries, faculty
libraries, academic libraries, high school library
(Betawi, 2012).
In the guidebook mentioned that the University
Library, University Library is a supporting element
of universities in education, research, and
community service (Subagyono, Chumaida and
Romadhona, 2022). In order to support the activities
of the Tri Darma, the library was given several
functions including educational functions, resources,
supporting research, recreation, publications, deposit
and interprets information. Based on Government
Regulation / PP No. 5 of 1980 on the main points of
the university organization or institution that belongs
to the University Library Technical Services Unit
(UPT), which means technical support is a device
completeness university or institute in the field of
education and teaching, research and community
service (Yusuf, 2017) in (Betawi, 2012)
2.2 University Library Functions
In principle, the main function is to support the Tri
Dharma College's library of education and teaching,
research, and dedication to the community.
According to Sulistyo Basuki (1991: 107), the main
function of college libraries, among others: (1) The
educative function, libraries help develop potential
students with a learning system that is contained in
the education curriculum, (2) the function of
information, libraries assist students in obtaining as
much information through search information in the
library, (3) support the research activities, in this
case the library provides a number of necessary
information so that the process of research
professors, students, and non-educational staff can
be done based on the data obtained from the library,
(4) as a place of recreation or entertainment, students
can rely on the library to reduce tensions after
studying with books tired of light and comfort in the
library (Basuki, 1991).
2.3 Institutional Repository
Institutional repository is a strategic step for the
university to maintain its relevance in the new
society based on information technology. As a
public space digital libraries and institutional
repository allows them to be visited by various
members of the community, both on and off campus.
Institutional repositories can be part of the
publishing system and university publications that
are open to academicians. The paradigm of an
institutional repository as a "showcase" to show the
whole scientific papers produced by academicians.
Repository is the first place for writers to showcase
the work and academic profile that has an impact on
their institution, and to the world at large (Ulum and
Setiawan, 2016)
There are several things that can make students
more frequent access to the repository, among others,
that the quality of the system owned by the library
such as by (Wand and Weber, 1995), the quality of a
system can be measured by response time,
turnaround time, system stability, ease of interaction
with the system, usefulness of the functions provided
by the system, the ease in learning the system, quality
of documentation, and ease of integration with other
systems (Ramadhan, 2017).
The next one is the collection development by
libraries. Collection is a term that is used extensively
in library materials in the library world to state what
should be held in a library (Sudiarta, Suhartika and
Haryanti, 2016). Before the term of the selection of
books, books in a wider sense that includes
monographs, magazines, micro materials and other
types of library materials (Ramadhan, 2017)
Currently, there are many college libraries that
already utilize their storage repository for digital
collections owned by the library. In addition to many
convenient features in the repository, the repository
can also create libraries save plenty of storage space
for digital collections is increasing. In addition, too
many libraries have begun to develop their
collections which are increasing so that the
possibility of increasing access by students increases
repositories.
3 RESEARCH METHOD
The method used is to use quantitative methods in
the form of a questionnaire prepared by the google
form and directed randomly to the students on how
to interest students to the digital collections of
libraries and how the intensity of students in

accessing the digital collections. Other research
methods used also by conducting interviews with
students. Besides this research also use a variety of
reference journals / articles related.
4 RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
As is well known that technological developments
are now beginning to enter the realm of libraries,
one of which is the use of repositories by libraries,
as well as repositories at IAIN IAIN in the center of
Tulungagung. The Tulungagung Repository is one
of the reference services developed by the
Tulungagung IAIN library. IAIN's Tulungagung
repository is still relatively new because IAIN
Tulungagung has just changed its name officially in
2013. Digital collections held by the library can still
be said to be a little from other college libraries.
IAIN Tulungagung's digital collection owned by the
library is still in the form of essays, theses, several
articles and journals. For this article, collections are
articles written by several faculties and the academic
community. Likewise, with journals owned by IAIN
Tulungagung library as well as writings from several
lecturers and several items from other libraries.
Access to this repository is still considered to be less
visited by students.
The results that can be based on the
questionnaire given to students are as follows.
1. How often do you access the Tulungagung IAIN
Repository service?
Figure 1: Repository access level diagram.
Based on these results there are 18.90% or 18
students who access the repository with a scale of 0
to 3 times a week, and 10% or 2 students’ access to a
scale of 4 to 7 times a week. Based on the results of
questionnaires, the intensity of the access to the
repository have been provided by the library is still
lacking.
From the results of field studies, I did inversely
proportional to the questionnaires filled out by
students. In fact, the field intensity bias arguably
repository access often because students who come
to the library to access this repository is a graduate
student who needs various references to complete
the thesis.
2. What is your reason Repository IAIN
Tulungagung access services?
Figure 2: Diagram of reasons for accessing the repository.
Based on the second question, there are many
reasons students to access the repository. The reason
that more often catapult by students is to find a
reference as much as 30% or 6 students. For that
reason, the task of college and looking for a journal
gets the same amount, namely 25% or 5 students.
15% of them as much as 3 to write the reason for
seeking information and 5% or 1 student write the
reason being easy to use.

3. What difficulties experienced when accessing
services, the repository of IAIN Tulungagung?
Figure 3: Diagram of reasons for difficulty accessing the
repository.
Based on the third question about difficulties when
accessing the IAIN Tulungagung student repository,
there are some difficulties experienced by students
with the results of 35% or 7 students who undergo a
long or slow loading process. While some students
have difficulties lacking a collection of updates, they
are confused because of the lack of socialization
associated with repositories and have not
experienced difficulties with 15% or 3 students
respectively. 4% or 20 other students have difficulty
due to incomplete content in the repository.
Figure 4: Content accessed in the repository.
Based on the questions to four, collections more
frequently accessed by students are journals and
articles. There is 70% or 14 students choose a
journal, 55% or 11 students select the articles, and
30% or 6 students choose the thesis. This shows that
many students who need the journal for the purposes
of their information well in completing a task.
Figure 5: Ever upload the file into the repository.
According to information from librarians, students
and teachers who want to upload files to the
repository directly upload them to the appropriate
refractive procedure outlined in the repository. but to
publish the file still must go through the librarian.
And based on the results of the fifth question, 95%
of students have never uploaded a file in the
repository, 5% have uploaded a file to the
repository.
Figure 6: File type uploaded.
Based on the above results, for the files once
uploaded by students to the repository itself is a
journal and essay. Because in IAIN Tulungagung
regulations, students who already have to deposit a
graduation thesis in printed form and upload a
digital form into the repository IAIN Tulungagung
as a condition making the diploma.

Figure 7: Ever access another repository.
Based on the last question, is the student also
accessing Tulingagung Another repository that does
not belong? Results in the can that are 90% of the
students answered never and 10% of them answered
yes.
Figure 8: Other repositories that have been accessed.
Whereas for the results of students who answered
yes, including the repository of UIN Maliki, UIN
Sunan Kalijaga, UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya, and
Surakarta results. Based on IAIN Tulungagung
students prefer to access the repositories that have
been provided by the library.
5 CONCLUSIONS
Based on the results of the questionnaire above, at
this time many students are still not aware of the
service repository and what the benefits of the
repository in a library. According to some students,
from the library itself is still lacking in socialization
to students about what it is the repository and what
the use of this repository. To overcome these
problems, now the library is already aggressively to
conduct socialization to new students about the
benefits of the service repository at the time of the
distribution of a library card. Currently the
repository services are now widely accessible to
students as a reference in seeking resources to the
task assigned by the lecturer. In addition to the
student's final semester repository service very
utilized for the source of the finish.
