Abstract: Speech, considered as a fundamental unit of communication, serves dual functions rooted in understanding
and expression. Primarily, it functions in naming or nomination, where events are indirectly reflected through
the speaker's mind or recalled from personal experiences. Additionally, speech facilitates the simultaneous
conveyance of diverse information, contributing to its communicative nature. This duality underscores the
complexity of speech as both a tool for expressing thoughts and a means of transmitting information within
the process of communication.
1 INTRODUCTION
The introduction explores the characteristics of
simple sentences, highlighting their strict word order
and their role in conveying communicative functions,
speaker consciousness, and emotionality. It examines
the various types of simple sentences found in
Goethe's texts, noting their expressiveness, semantic-
figurative expression, and modal value. The
discussion progresses to the derivational changes of
simple sentence types, constituting modelling, and
their reflection in active syntactic relations within
German. Moreover, it explores the activity of simple
sentences in artistic works, considering parameters
such as communicative and derivational aspects. The
text also addresses the composition of elementary
sentences, which can range from single-word
expressions to more complex structures. It elucidates
the syntactic relationships between words within
sentences, distinguishing semantic combinations
from grammatical connections. Additionally, it
discusses participial relationships between verb
forms and sentence subjects, emphasizing their role
in conveying processes and actions.

2 RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS
The study explores the intricate structures found
within primary and secondary clauses, highlighting
their versatility and potential complexity. These
clauses, often accompanied by optional elements such
as determiners, contribute layers of meaning and
nuance to sentences. However, determining the
precise number of such determinants poses a
theoretical challenge, as it varies depending on
communicative contexts and speaker preferences. An
analysis of Goethe's syntax provides valuable insights
into the influence of oral speech norms on the author's
syntactic choices. For instance, Goethe frequently
employs noun formations derived from verbs,
enhancing the expressiveness and semantic depth of
his sentences. This linguistic richness captures
nuanced shades of meaning and rhythmic
compositions, showcasing the author's mastery of
syntax and style.
Furthermore, the investigation explores the semantic-
derivation possibilities inherent in German syntax,
particularly evident in Goethe's idiolect. The study
highlights the prevalence of participle structures,
contributing to the overall structural tendency in

German syntax. Through various examples from
Goethe's works, the study illustrates how syntactic
choices enhance the aesthetic and communicative
effectiveness of the text.
Moreover, the research examines the vast range of
possible sentence forms within Goethe's idiolect,
illustrating how these forms contribute to the overall
sentence typology. The grammar of Goethe's prose is
characterized by a variety of sentence structures,
including verbless sentences that convey a heightened
sense of relevance and emotionality. These sentences,
often divided into parts based on rhythmic-
grammatical features, exhibit a unique syntactic
complexity that enriches Goethe's narrative style.
The study also investigates absolute constructions
within Goethe's syntax, highlighting their distinctive
features and functions within sentences. Absolute
constructions, characterized by their lack of
dependence on the main clause, offer unique
opportunities for syntactic and semantic exploration.
By analysing examples from Goethe's works, the
study elucidates the role of absolute constructions in
conveying complex semantic relationships and
enhancing narrative complexity.
Additionally, the research explores the syntactic use
of infinitives with objects in Goethe's idiolect,
shedding light on their prevalence and significance
within German syntax. Infinitives with objects, often
employed alongside verbs of perception or reflection,
serve as versatile linguistic tools for conveying
complex actions and states. Through detailed analysis
of examples from Goethe's writings, the study
elucidates the syntactic and semantic nuances of
infinitives with objects, highlighting their role in
shaping the overall texture and meaning of the text.
Furthermore, the study examines the syntactic
functions of case constructions within Goethe's
syntax, focusing on their semantic implications and
grammatical versatility. Case constructions,
including both nominal and pronominal expressions,
play a crucial role in establishing relationships
between elements within sentences. Through careful
analysis of examples from Goethe's works, the study
demonstrates how case constructions contribute to the
overall coherence and expressiveness of the text.
Moreover, the research investigates the role of
determiners in shaping sentence structure and
meaning within Goethe's idiolect. Determiners,
including adjectives, articles, and pronouns, play a
key role in indicating grammatical relationships and
conveying semantic nuances. By analysing examples
from Goethe's prose, the study illuminates the diverse
functions of determiners in German syntax,
highlighting their role in enhancing clarity, precision,
and expressiveness.
In conclusion, the investigation offers valuable
insights into the syntactic intricacies of Goethe's
prose, highlighting the diverse structures and
functions inherent in German syntax. Through
detailed analysis of examples from Goethe's works,
the study demonstrates how syntactic choices
contribute to the overall aesthetic and communicative
effectiveness of the text. By exploring the syntactic
features of Goethe's idiolect, the research enriches our
understanding of German syntax and its role in
literary expression.
3 CONCLUSION
In conclusion, the analysis of Goethe's syntax reveals
the active creativity of the author and his adept
coordination with the evolving norms of modern
German language development. Through the
examination of syntactic-stylistic features, it becomes
evident that verbal speech plays a significant role in
enriching the expressive possibilities of syntactic
devices in literary language. This is exemplified by
Goethe's innovative use of nouns derived from verbs,
the deliberate crafting of rhythmic-compositional
expressions, and the strategic deployment of single-
content and verbless sentences to evoke nuanced
meanings and emotions. Furthermore, the
idiosyncratic characteristics of Goethe's syntax
transcend his works, influencing broader linguistic
phenomena such as the use of ancient compounds and
infinitive verbs with objects. These distinctive
syntactic features not only facilitate a diverse range
of semantic expressions but also imbue Goethe's
storytelling across various genres with heightened
emotionality and stylistic allure. Through meticulous
analysis, we gain deeper insights into the intricate
interplay between syntax, semantics, and artistic
storytelling techniques in Goethe's literary works.
